The 3rd International Atmospheric Limb Workshop, organized by the OSIRIS team at the University of Saskatchewan, will be held in Montréal, Canada, on Tuesday, April 25 to Friday, April 28, 2006. This year's meeting is sponsored in part by the Canadian Space Agency and also by World Climate Research Programme (WCRP) SPARC. SPARC provided funding that allowed several young researchers and students to attend the meeting.
Two previous International Atmospheric Limb Workshops, held in Bremen, 2003, and Stockholm, 2004, brought together scientists involved in remote sensing techniques with a particular focus on limb scattering in the UV and visible spectral range. The Stockholm workshop extended the focus to include infrared and microwave/sub-mm soundings techniques. This year's workshop will continue the limb scattering and emission dicussion and will extend the focus with some emphasis on recent advances in occultation experiments from satellite platforms.
A preliminary draft of the program is now available. Click here for the current version. All participants will give an oral presentation. Friday is a dedicated working day and there will opportunity for small group discussion and planning.
